Different Animals tells the story of a family navigating grief, connection, (mis)communication and climate change. The play opens one year after the mother, Sela, left her family to wander the wilderness of Northern Canada. It follows those left behind, including Sid (her husband), and their children Aerie and Perrin. The characters in this bilingual English-ASL story are Deaf, hard-of-hearing, hearing, queer, straight, transforming, seeking, lost, and being found. They are human, and they're in conversation with each other and with the earth.
March 2024: digital staged reading* at the Sound Off Theatre Festival
